Its founding partner has 30 years of professional experience, having successfully and permanently litigated before the Chilean Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals and, likewise, before the most diverse arbitration tribunals, both national and international. Also, Gonzalo Fernández has extensive experience as an arbitrator, both in national and international cases.

Gonzalo Fernández was the leading partner in the litigation and arbitration practice of ​​Carey for 20 years. He has been an arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CAM Santiago) for almost 20 years and was a Member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for two periods (between 2018 and 2024). He is also an arbitrator on the international list of the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission. He has been a Professor of Civil Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile since 1997.
